Some wedding days are planned down to the minute — and then there are days like this one. Windy, foggy, a little wild… and completely perfect.
These two eloped in beautiful Homer, Alaska, where the clouds hung low over the bay and the wind danced through her hair. There was something cinematic about it all — the soft light, the ocean air, the laughter that carried over the sound of the waves. From the very beginning, their day felt effortless, like the kind of love story that doesn’t need grand gestures to feel big.
After their ceremony on the bluff, we stopped by the Salty Dog — because honestly, what’s more Homer than that? The moment they walked in, the whole bar erupted in cheers. Strangers toasted their new marriage, offered hugs, and shouted congratulations. It was spontaneous, a little chaotic, and totally unforgettable.
From there, we wandered to Finn’s Pizza, where they shared a pie and some cold beers in their wedding attire and it was the most natural thing in the world. She took a sip, laughed, and leaned into him — the kind of moment you can’t pose or plan. A few women at the next table gushed over her dress and had her do a spin, and one even helped smooth her wind-tossed hair. It was so sweet, so human, and so Alaska.
The whole day felt like a love letter to doing things your own way. No timelines, no pressure — just two people celebrating exactly how they wanted to. Between the fog, the laughter, and the clinking of glasses, it was romantic in the most real way possible.
Sometimes, the best wedding days aren’t the perfectly polished ones — they’re the ones where you end up with pizza sauce on your dress, a beer in your hand, and a crowd of strangers cheering you on.
